Additionally, operators now have dedicated room and workflow support for Rotating Machines. Why it matters: This eliminates the need for clumsy workarounds. Smarter Rotating-Machine Setup For Rotating Machine applications, the system now features resonance-frequency calculation support specifically designed for inductance-related workflows, which is cleverly designed to activate immediately after capacitance measurement. Instead of forcing operators to manually calculate or guess optimal settings, the software intelligently bridges the gap between capacitance and inductance, saving time and improving test accuracy.

Chart Harmony: PDF Reports That Match Your Screen There is nothing more frustrating than looking at a perfectly scaled chart on your device, only to export a PDF that looks completely different. CAPTAN 2.0.6 completely reworks PDF report charts to better match the on-device user interface. The developers have also fixed the frustrating mismatches that previously existed between device charts and the final printed reports. Why it matters: Trust in reporting is critical. Ensuring visual parity between the screen and the page means you can confidently hand off a report knowing it accurately reflects the test you just evaluated on-site.

Smoother Sweeps: Better Filtering and Ordering Sweep, Tip-Up, and F-Sweep behaviors have received a major overhaul. The update introduces a new “Auto Fill” behavior to the configuration and improves input flow so keyboard focus remains predictable when adding new points. It also significantly improves chart filtering so displayed data actually matches the selected test type and X-axis without showing unrelated data. Why it matters: Anyone who has accidentally lost their place while inputting a long list of sweep points will appreciate this. The combination of smarter auto-filling and precise data filtering keeps your test configurations clean and your resulting graphs clutter-free.

Rock-Solid Stability for Remote and Quick Modes Stability has been massively reinforced across the board, particularly for Quick Mode, Remote Mode, and data management. Quick Mode settings now save correctly, report generation in Remote Mode has been fixed, and the handling of import/export workflows—as well as previously failing backup retrievals—has been significantly improved. Why it matters: When you are in the field relying on Remote Mode or a quick backup, software crashes are unacceptable. These fixes ensure that your data is safe and your specialized modes function exactly as intended without sudden freezes or vanishing configurations.

A Cleaner, Smarter Settings Experience The settings menus are now cleaner and feature much better operator guidance. For example, the default Avoid Test Frequency filter bandwidth has been changed to 5 Hz and is now applied consistently across Single, Tip-Up, and F Sweep tests. Furthermore, operators will now see helpful messages, such as a reminder in Advanced Settings to restart or power-cycle the device after a file transfer is completed.
